PRUNING 2° – THE PRUNING OF THE ‘PARTER’ OF BOXWOOD PLANTS (IN FRONT OF THE VILLA)
In September the new pruning cycle of the 60.000 sqm boxwood plants (buxus semprevirens) of the monumental garden of Valsanzibio has started. Every year the cycle starts with the boxwood plants in front of the Villa and it takes almost 10 months to prune all the boxwood plants of the garden. Thus, when the cycle end it is already time to start again! The only weeks and days that the trimmers are not busy cutting are in the periods too hot (July/August), too cold (January/February) and in the spring time. When they are just cut, the boxwood plants seem as green wall made of vegetation! Note the photos 1, 2 & 3 where on one side the boxwood plant has just been cut, while on the other side has just been prepared to be cut after one year of growing. In the photo 4, instead, you can note a detail of the boxwood plant ready to be pruned, while, in the photo 5 a boxwood plant just pruned. A special ‘BRAVO’ to our trimmers.
