By regulation, dogs cannot access the Monumental Garden of Valsanzibio. However, if the dog is SMALL SIZE (up to about 8 kg), it is not aggressive and is kept for the WHOLE DURATION OF THE VISIT ON THE LEASH and/or carrier or backpack/bag, an exception is made and visitors can bring their faithful friend inside the garden. The leash must not be too long and, in order to avoid damage to the plants of the labyrinth should the dog try to pass between them, it is FORBIDDEN to enter the seventeenth-century labyrinth with the dog (you can only go up to the middle tower to see it from the top)! Obviously, the owner is responsible for his dog and, in case the latter has to do his own needs, he must clean with the special bag brought from home (the bag with the needs must be taken away or can be left at the garden entrance/exit!). Also, please try to prevent male dogs from urinating on boxwoods and/or other valuable shrubs for obvious reasons. Finally, to respect the peace of the environment and the other guests who visit the historic garden, try to minimize any barking of your dog. Thank you for your kind cooperation and, if your dog is the permitted size, have a nice visit with your best friend.
PS: in case your dog cannot access the garden, we would like to point out that near the ticket office, inside the ‘Botanic’ garden (sector of the Valsanzibio Monumental Garden), we have a fenced area where you can leave your dog. The dog cannot be left unattended, but a member of the visiting people must remain with him. Alternatively, it is possible to organize a ‘dog sitting’ service. If you are interested in this service you will need to contact us indicating the day of the visit and the arrival time to organize yourself with the ‘dog sitter’. The cost for this service will be quoted upon booking and varies from € 8,0 to € 10,0 per hour based on the day of the visit (weekdays, weekends or holidays) and the availability of the ‘dog sitter’.
